Chained

My soul is chained unto this ground.
To fly too high is quite unsound.
Adapted to this place of birth
My home is here upon this earth.

It is the place that gave me life
A piece of land that is my fief.
To care and hold and clean and tend
Until my life is at an end

Each piece of ground an Eden’s space
To have and hold in loving grace
And with each place an apple tree
For you to care and oversee

So tend this garden with your wife
And have ye children and a life.
It is foreseen each ring each chime
Has meaning in each drop of time

Do not covert the apple tree
Its fruit has knowledge not for thee.

If knowledge can be found in an apple...
then your poetry is an ORCHARD OF WISDOM...

Mr.T, as you have so beautifully shown us with your worthy words, your soul is not really "chained" to the ground---your soul is "safely secured" with a ribbon of grace, wisdom and love.

This is a jewel, as are you!--a timeless piece of writing.

It all seems so simple when YOU say it, sy...but? Sometimes I feel like I am in a bountiful orchard--chained to a lemon tree!

1derful!

I was chained once, but that's a different story

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
