In the flow of eve’s glow,
I sit here in solitude.
Breathing in,
breathing out,
silently, yet forcefully.
Thoughts of you keep
circling ‘round my heart,
fencing me in.
Not one for being captured,
tonight I willing accept
Love’s enclosure.
I am your captive,
imprisoned in a cell
in which only you hold the key.
Unlock me, please.
For I do not have the strength
to survive unless I am free
of all constraints,
all restraints,
all the rules and controls.
The game of love too often demands
Submission.
And while I say to you now
I may yet willingly submit,
part of me wishes to stay
close to an open door.
So I beg of you,
unlock the door,
if you really love me.
I will not leave,
if you set me free.

Kacy,
Now pray tell who holds that key? I learned this lesson in my 20's and it was freeing indeed. Good write, as usual. Peace.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I'm not a kiss and tell kind of gal.
But I'm glad you learned your lesson, bro.
(And I think Nancy still has the key to your cell.)

Kacy,
You're pretty good at pop quizzes! Excellent answer, you passed the test. Don't know of any cells here, just love dens.

Thanks, Ray. Neil is cool. Hey, I like that "fire on the mountain" bit.

Paul, glad you liked that, it is true, isn't it?

(smiles) Wow, I too have heard that Neil Young number, I listen to 97.3 FM KBCO here by the way, they play much Neil Young on that rock station and other classic and modern rock! (big hugggssssss) This is a powerfully bittersweet poem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
