It's A Start

It's Saturday morning and I've slept late...just let the phone ring, I know it's you
I know it seems ironic, but it's just something I gotta do
If I forget you for a moment, if I stop feeling for a while
Then my soul feels more peaceful, and I can finally smile

It doesn't mean I don't love you...It just means maybe I can start to move on
Though you are with me everywhere, and you will always be a part of my song
It's still a start, if I can go one day where I don't think about you
Just one day where I don't come completely unglued

I know it's a temporary thing, but it's still a start, more than I had yesterday
Maybe if I can just focus on the rest of my life, I can will you away
No, now that is asking for too much, but still it's a thought
Our ending was inevitable, it was no one's fault

So now here I am...and it's Thursday evening at long last
I didn't think of you as much, didn't focus on our past
It's a start...and I can feel a new day coming true
A victory for me...I know it's ironic...it's just something I gotta do

Amy, this is awesome and so very real a
feel when one tries to cut the strings
that have bound them to someone for whom
they still FEEL.....can be tough...

I could feel this one...acceptence dosen't always come easy or fast but it does come...It's been my experience that the pain will pass and life will seem good again.You just hang in there.Powerful write.
