Yellow and Blue.
Starry nights always
remind me of you,
Vincent.
I wonder how you
would have painted
the September sky
last year.
Streaks of yellow over blue,
splashes of life's vitality
hovering...
over anguished faces
unable to comprehend
the magnitude of the madness.
The insanity of it all,
beyond words,
beyond belief,
beyond the colors
of anyone's palette.
I wonder,
what hue would you use
to paint the pain away?
Is there some color
missing from my paintbox
that would color the skies
with all those goodbyes?
I look up and see the stars,
and I think of you...
the anguish, the pain,
the beauty you captured
in spite of it all.
And I wonder, Vincent,
could you help me
paint my way
out of sadness today?

This is a very sad and moving piece. I hope you find the color you are looking for. My heart and prayers are with you.

Kacy,
It seems some sorrow can't be painted. Nice write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Heartfelt thanks, Kris.

Larry, I know you understand that truth on a personal level. Tender hugs.

Brian, thank you for your reply.

My word palette seems so inadequate at a time like this.

Nothing anyone can create can capture the feeling of that day.

Nice work.

I don't think there is a color to paint the sadness of this day.

This is an extremely moving and touching piece of writing.

Kacy this is an outstanding write....I love how you incorporated the famous painting of Van G for your theme and creativly tied it all together with imagery, color and with a touching tribute to 9/11.
Im keeping this starry gem.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, my heart goes out to you, sweet friend, unfortunately In feel no color can replace the color of sorrow, but always believe in your heart and you can glitter over the tears with ones of shiny hope! My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is beautiful and touching. I think Vincent could do it, if anyone could. He painted so much beauty even through his own pain.
Luv this

Ron, thank you so much for your reply.

Sandra, a big thank you for your kind reply. Yes, if anyone could do it, it would be a Vincent's soul.

Marge, thank you for your generous reply!
Yanno, I'm almost inspired to start painting on canvas again. I haven't painted in over 15 years. Talk about a dry spell!

We often have to find a way to express our pain, and it was quite difficult to try to express what we felt on 9-11. Van Gogh was a wonderful artist, and I would like to be able to see what he would have painted to express the pain. This is a wonderful piece.

Dea, thank you so much.

Midnite

Through these words you have written what it has been so hard for me to find words for.  Your art here, like Vincents, yet done with words, colored the feeling.

profoundly heart-wrenching
this is so well done there are not words enough to comment aptly

your words have definitely been touched by the master's pallette

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Martie, thank you so much for that reply. It was a difficult night for so many souls.

VAS, how kind you are. I feel my words are feeble in both intensity and 'hue' compared to anything he painted. But I thank you for your generosity.
