What is Aging for? By Larry Chadwick Just found this poem written in October of last year. It was written in honor of my dad and now reposted in his honor. If living forever is what it’s about, Then what is aging for? Death is something that causes doubt, But not a thing to abhor. It’s the ebbing of the time, As it slowly slips away. It goes so slow we don’t mind, There’s always another day. Suddenly we wake up and see, That aging has happened to me. The time it went by so fast, How could it possibly be? Now I’m facing my final days, Reflecting on all I have done. I think I’ll be just fine, I fathered my three sons. October 19, 2001 (Written in honor of my dad.) If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. [This message has been edited by Larry C (09-11-2002 01:13 AM).] |

I love the last two lines of this one, Larry. So selfless, and admirable. I'm sure that your father would be VERY proud to read this. Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!? |

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, I know your dad will always be so proud of you for being you and I know fathering three sons of your own he is so proud of you as are your kids so lucky to have such a caring dad like you and you resemble his golden loving heart so well! (big hugggssssss) My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Kacy, Thanks. I forgot about this poem written last fall. The irony of some of my poetry and its timing relating to the topics and my losses... Kris, Actually, he did. It was written last fall. And thank you for such kind words. Paul, Thank you. A tribute written before his death. Zall, Welcome to Passions. And thank you for your kind words. Noah, I know you're right. Thanks. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
