(This is part two of possibly a five part series, it is too complex to capture that easily!) Who am I to question American values I am not a preacher of God Or am I, who was ordained at birth To see things differently as a poet In a special heart that feels sorrows That gets buried in the pity of giving up Yet stubborn enough to never succumb For there are too many obstacles ahead And the sermon of life’s misery must be told People have said, accept the facts You cannot change things by yourself For you must have a revival To reemphasize American morals In words reaching so deep within you That the song of truth Comes out so strong That you are carried away with the spirit On a pulpit that carries the mind In thoughts of clarity so crystal clear That you are absorbed into the magic That in genuflection miracles can happen To revive the words that demand change In attitudes lost within corporate irresponsibility Let us have an accounting in God’s way That shows the truth in the words that bonds respect D.Lester Young 9/5/02 -9/8/2002 Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |

If this is part 2, could you maybe re-post part one? I really like this and would like to read the entire series. Thanks. Tammy |
