She once told me I must be a magician As the mere presence of me Made her desert wet with ideas But I do not know any magic Or I would spell cast words that made the ideas real Not just vagaries to flit Like leafed shadows On twigs of noonday And I would bring streams to parched valleys With wave of wand That in green passing brought Swelled round bellies Of rebirth to the touch of her She once told me I must be a magician. Instead more like Kahn I’ve lain waste to days Leaving smoking remnants That with pungent scent Sting the very breath I take Yet perhaps There is a bit of magic In remembering The way she said it. |

If one believes in magic, then one must believe in the words that bring it forth... the oasis is near... the grapes are sweet... |

Cpat The magic is in the wondering and in finding the answer was there all along. Enjoyed this a great deal as I do all your poetry! |

Isn't "Magician" the name of another PIP poet? I think I'd be concerned if I were you!Hehe! Oh, she said "a" magician, not "the" magician! Hehe!----"What a difference a day ("a") makes!" (a line from a song)---go and have a good one!---"day" that is! Linda |

Cpat, Yep, it's all spelled out. We just need to learn the letters. Mike |

"She once told me I must be a magician" "But I do not know any magic Or I would spell cast words" ron, you do know magic...your words leave us spellbound...like enchanting silver spider webs...laced in letters...connecting emotions...to breathlessness...helen |

I happen to be an authority on 'magick' and I do know how to spot a true magician from the sleight of hand artist--you sir, are so very much the real thing, that it simply SEEMS unreal... |

I don't know much, but I know this "She once told me I must be a magician. Instead more like Kahn I’ve lain waste to days Leaving smoking remnants That with pungent scent Sting the very breath I take" Outstanding, Cpat ~wranx In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward". |

She once told me I must be a magician As the mere presence of me Made her desert wet with ideas *sigh* There is magic here for sure. |
