I never know, what's 'round the bend,
On this winding road of life,
Tho' there've been times of happiness,
There have been times of strife.

My life is like an elevator,
With many ups and downs,
It's always in a state of flux,
As I have often found.

"Life's a bowl of cherries!"
And yes, at times that's true,
But often it is full of pits
And very hard to chew!

Sometimes I am a laughing clown,
In this circus known as life,
But then the tears come falling down,
With no relief in sight!

I'm on a roller coaster,
With many highs and lows,
I can't expect no more, no less,
That's how the story goes.

At times it's one great party,
And I just have a ball,
Then the tables turn again,
And I'm headed for a fall!

Life's certainly a gamble,
A game of chance, you see,
So dare to do your very best,
Then let the cards fall free!

Yes, life's cliches. But stretched and painted and made beautiful by you. Loved it!

It's in the cards all right...I don't think it matters if we hold them or fold them since they're going to fall anyway. Now I don't mean that in a negative way, the odds are what they are...so who's to say they might just fall my way...someday!

Kind of like the cliches, it's a game of chance ...a roll of the dice, might as well bet on the outcome that you'll win the pot! I guess the key is knowing when to cash in.

I liked your poem.
