Clouds race across the sky, Lightning streaks, bolts, Fire flies, They seem to dance above the moon, Glowing, though be new tonight, And with a silver bluish hue, T'is not, we know, to our delight. These little ones seem to come From beyond the dimmest star, Silver winds on golden birds, Lift these more gently than whispered words. Making you weightless in their light, Gliding glowing soft and bright, Pink and blue dance cloud. Defying every limit allowed. Dancing over a blazing sky, Over you...Now Fly!!! Who are these that dance in the night? While we all gape at the spectacle of light. Some day we'll know how to fly, Up there like those of the sky. Time will tell, there is a chance. Someday we'll join their lightning dance. Sherry Gardner Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. |

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, I love this, oh my gosh, I have always envied the beautiful glow of fireflies and dream so much to shine like them! (kiss on cheek) This is enchanting, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sherry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Alright everyone, thanks for the applause. I love your take on this piece... For the record, I wrote it shortly after viewing the movie "Close Encounters" back in the early 80's... Not fireflies.. Fire(noun) Flies(verb) but I kinda like the way you guys saw it too..... if you don't know the context I am sure one would visualize it that way. Thank you again for giving me a fresh new perspective on an old poem. Love, firefly Light, and Peace, Sherry Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. |

It is interesting to think that someday we may be the lights, the UFO's in the night sky... Great poem. [This message has been edited by Mystic Mystron (09-05-2002 10:25 PM).] |

I particularly like this poem, because it describes both the mystery and the beauty of the unknown visitors. Having had my own so-called "encounters" I can particularly relate to.. "Pink and blue dance cloud. Defying every limit allowed. Dancing over a blazing sky, Over you...Now Fly!!!" Mom Create something infinite today - Smile!!! |
