I said, "I'll have an omlet- My coffee, black and strong. And could you turn the jukebox up? I really like that song. You know you're kind of pretty? And I do not see a ring... I'd like to know you better- And see what time will bring. Why don't I take your number? I'll call tomorrow night... After my ride in Fresno... Say, would that be all right? I have five hundred miles to drive... I guess I'd better go... You mean you haven't figured out? I follow rodeo! You won't give me your number? Why, darling, that's too bad- You don't know what you're missing Or what fun we might have had... Oh, well, just keep the change I guess- Another chance I've blowed... So I'll just drag on out of here- I'm going down the road." |

BRAVO!!! This reminded me of Van Morrison's new self-titled song from Down The Road, this shines with your wonderful wanderlust and incredible insight of the journies ahead! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet John, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Mr, Gunslinger, how I wish you had stopped at my work and asked that question! You wouldn't have had time to drink your coffee! But I will keep looking for you....ME |

Those waitresses have to go easy on passing out those numbers...lots of cowboys are asking...it usually works best for me when I give them mine...and right now my girlfriend will not allow...James |

'Slinger...ya haven't changed a lick...you're still stronger'n an acre of Garlic....I like going into those little cafe/diner's, order a sheepherder's dinner...when she asks what that is I reply, "A little bit of ewe".....Or, if it's breakfast ya order, "Give me two pieces of burn't toast and a cup of cold coffee, I'm homesick".....Nice write, as usual cowboy.. |

This is a perfect ballad, with a perfect flow and rhyme scheme, and I love the story you tell in it. Nan |
