The musing of a childhood, their pictures just to keep Small moments caught forever, in the background left to sleep Pictures for the keeping, that the mind alone can view The soul within our being, which makes this me and you The meldings of some moments, which entices sense to store The power of identity, which stays forever more The knowing of both right and wrong, the loved ones we hold dear The day it was, the time just passed, what happened through the year It’s a gift that’s given freely; a seed sown thus to grow To cultivate each image, so that time again will show That gives us thought of cherish, or a fear one can’t explain Which comes to haunt or save us, or to keep the present sain It may be just a sense of smell, an action or a sight The laughter of some children that can make the moment right The feeling from a little kiss your child did come to give All are triggers that unleash the moments we did live And what would be this world of ours if we could not recall? A day would come; a day would go, to matter not at all To learn would just be fruitless, the teachings just a waste For we would just be robots without our times to taste For they are little parts that live, to grow from moments grace There put in memories keeping, where the special times we place To share with they we know or love or keep just to ourselves So often I just sit in thought and through them slowly delve |

Rick, very well done, I particularly liked the double entendre on sain/sane. Write on Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Hello Rick I've missed reading your work and I'm so glad I found this one. I cherish many of my memories, especially of times spent with my late father. I hold my memories very close to my heart and often reminisce about the special times. Thank you for your beautiful thoughts. Take care.....Sue Suetang |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Rick, I am so blessed we have memories, for if we could never remember or cherish anything life would be such a sad place to be! (sigh) Always hold onto your memories and let them be the photo album of your heart, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Rick, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
