Whispering winds invite me
To visit those dreams tucked away.
Images dance across my mind
As I walked with you today.

It's been so long since you've been gone.
You held my hand; I felt you near.
I've traveled so many empty miles.
Wiped away so many tears.

Now putting the sadness aside.
In reflections of another time,
Hearing the laughter we once shared
If only time could rewind.

Draining my mind of emotion.
From inspiration I now write.
Words of image etched in gold
Perhaps these words will ignite.

Within this heart of a poet
Treasured dreams and thoughts flow through.
Visions written on parchment
With loving thoughts of you.
