Listening to every heart

Cornhusk Mama

This simple child of golden grain
Find her dancing in the rain
Her baby bear, a child’s delight
Find her dancing in the night

Cornhusk mama, sing your song
Cornhusk dolly, step along

In your quiet, gentle, ways
Softly, softly, your skirts sway
You nod your head in refrain
Simple child of golden grain

Cornhusk mama, sing your song
Cornhusk dolly, step along

Tatted lace beneath your feet
Would you smile in gentle greet?
Will your skirts in wind blow free?
Will you often think of me?

Cornhusk mama, sing your song
Cornhusk dolly, step along.

*smiling here*
This is beautiful Karilea...
I have seen these dolls made from cornhusks
and they are very pretty.
I shall keep this piece
to enjoy a number of times, I am sure.

I love this rhythm. I can see a little kid jumping rope to its rhythm. Thanks, this was sweet.  "Cornhusk mamma, take your time
