The Lion Within The dark continent, Is indeed befitting of royalty. Wherin lies the truest warrrior, Who yawns upon the rising sun. A prowling gait as hunger sets in; A mighty roar that shakes the world. Time berates the sleeping Between moments of contemplation; Solitude and peace, are oft not the case; A storm rises through irises of flame. Both feared and admired, The lion is majestic indeed; King of the land and skies, Cunning yet brave, He blends within the dry brush, Eyes focused on the prey. In my dreams, I often break bread With heroes of the past. One by one, They walk through my hungry soul, Making me stronger, Giving me life; And soon, I will be able To kiss the painful hearts of my elders, And catch the crystal tears Of the frustrated youth. For now I wait.................. Moving as the wind, A predator creeps upon a prize, All the whilst, Conjuring lessons of past teachers; Powerful muscles contract in anticipation, As teeth of death are unvailed from a maddened smile; A chase and then a pounce, The skies turn blood red, A contemptous roar in victory! I am free at last! Able to feel the winds of change Upon my arched brow; Body and soul now of substance, My feet gently touch the ground; I am now delivered to my people, Armageddon will soon follow; So fear me or stand behind me, The black lion has awakend!   BRAVO!!! Oh Keith, I believe it does take so much love and strength to rise indeed, this is a powerful write and may you always listen to the elders and teachers and believe in hope and faith as you, the black lion, is destined to prosper!
