Playground with the wooden swings has given way to more modern things putskids in wait for bureaucractic changes while park authorities go through neglected stages... that keeps the child bored at recess and the playground has begun to regress and we ask ourselves what's the danger in a few wooden splinters consider a cut in recess activities is akin to added winters... that forces the child to remain inside 'cause city bylaws must 'rework' old slides for fear the child might collapse the thing how content we were on wooden slat swings... this is how we fan a fearful parent's pride to keep children from the exercise of park rides while more accidents are caused by their transport to the park then the injuries that occur out of a momentary spark. most injuries were caused by scarfs caught on playgroung facilities not by the lack of modern amenities... not due to older rides that need to be revamped the city now loves to stop clild exercises, to apply its new stamp we're in a stage where scratched knees become a major parental concern... I see more kids getting obese while parents ban older installations remaining taciturn. [This message has been edited by ecrivan (08-11-2002 01:25 AM).] |

I agree with you Martin, sometimes we give up simple pleasure for safety. Keth Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Hi Keth and Karilea, This idea came to me from an article written up in our Gazette...about the way we're contributing to child obesity more than child safety...funny to put it that way but that's how it is |

Glad I caught this one...well said Martin. We have become so caught up in modern mish mash...children can't be children, and parents can't be effective. My daughter and I tour the playground circuit every weekend. The oldest are the best and best loved. She knows how to remove her own splinters. Thank you. ThisDiamond |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Martin, this is horrible news indeed, and what's worse is that people are tending to overschedule children according to an earlier Time magazine article, and a lot of it is because they believe America is a lazy nation as far as manufacturing and demands so they use that as an excuse to depress young children to work to the future! (sad sigh) I wish it were like the old days when children ran free and happily, it breaks my hearts eeing empty playgrounds now, this is very sad but true, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
