Not Just Another New York Day The clouds are pure white The sun shines and The sky is bright How could anyone know Where did the songbirds go? Remember them Their faces Their names With silent prayers, the people waited and still the ashes fell on twisted steel and concrete blocks never knowing souls covered all They are in the air In every breath you take In between the words you speak on the curbsides of the city streets imbedded in the cracks, laid to rest on the sideswalks of New York Remember them not just another New York day... c2002SimplyGold [This message has been edited by SimplyGold (08-04-2002 09:37 PM).] |

A perfect poetic description of that awful day, Electra... Oh how well you've captured it. ~ lots of chipmunk hugs Lyra |
