She has fallen in love without trying to Falling for a mess of lies Whose main purpose in life Was in self reflection Looking at only his desires How is it with all this intelligence That the heart betrays her so To chase caution into the wind Of wild lusty abandonment What is this spell of debauchery Sending her mind lusting for much more Licking her lips in the moisture Of hidden needs to be fulfilled in day dreams She lies in wait hoping time would heal The conflict of heart and soul But the fragrance of his voice Storms away the inhibitions In words that told him It is alright Well the passions of all the storms Was left out in his delight last night Leaving him begging for her to stop Giving him the time to rest As she reached over to wrap her arms Around the morning ghost Shattered into a billion pieces She again is so fragile that a whisper Will set tears to flowing In a heart now so lonely It cracks with the mind saying “I told you so” D.Lester Young (08/11/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |

hmmm...I think I've lived this. A great write! It certainly captured me from the very first and kept me enraptured until the very end. In truth, what defines us is our poetry. |
