Goodbye
Feb. 25, 2002
Aug. 9, 2002

Before I go,
I will write this poem to you.

Beside the rosetree vines.
Beneath their earthen roots.
A towel laid in earth.
You, delicate, below.
Later on to cut
lilies at their stems,
to mound warm snow above.
And watch the lemons fall.

Before I go,
I will write this poem for you.

Number 2
We buried that pencil,
shoveled three feet --
its muddy eraser;
strong, lithe bone.
It can write to the grass,
surge blood through its words,
build graphite roots.

If I ever till there,
I'll find a little ring,
a number two badge,
and crumbs of her rubber.
Find some paper. Some paper.
I need to write this down.
All that she's done for me.

Wow!!! Awwwwwww, I love both of these, sweet friend, these are both beautiful and delightful yet sadly sentimental at the same time, wonderful work, I know how hard it ust be to lose a pet and my heart goes out to you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing!

I am so sorry about your pets...
this is a heartbreaking poem and you are such a very sweet squirrel, that even a chipmunk can be your friend.

I am so very sorry for your loss, the ache of loosing an animal is the worst I know. Truly heartfelt Mike.
