A Poet Should Not Die Unwritten

If I die tonight, then
I shall surely cry in my grave.
Not for the loss of sunsets
or fresh coffee or coconut,
No, these things shall linger
beyond the days of steps
in memories I have known.
It is the things I never did
nor never knew that will
streak tears like trains
into the dark satin tunnel
of my eternal regret.
And it is panic that wakes me
from this timid slumber
in the darkest hours of flight
to rest my head in sweating hands
that clawed their way out
of the night...
A poet should not die unwritten
on the parched pages of verse
where love hovers forever unspent
on a windowless, ebony hearse.
The aging hands of a promised walk
along the shore in the red moonlight
should never touch the dead cold
of lips that loved someone that much.
Memories should know the ages
not dream built castles of sand.
And I should live just long enough
to know the words of your hand.

smiling here, I always did say that it was the things I didn't do that I regret the most--and trust me, I've done a lot of stupid things--but I learned something from them (the dumb things I REMEMBER, anyway )

You have a whisper soft style that I admire very much.

BRAVO!!! Yes, no poet should ever be left unread, for the biggest beauty of poetry, in my opinion, is that we can give something not only to ourselves but also to all our future children to share, to know how hope and love exists, and to share with those we love! (kiss on cheek) This is pure, wonderful wisdom, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

DeaDi, I am in awe of your pen.

Well, I guess the person holding it, probably should share the credit.

BRAVO! DeaDi
