Renewal of Spirit June 16th, 2002 Copyright 2002 Doug Pretorius Yes I rhyme, much of the time, about just how I feel. Read aloud, tall and proud, my words they wish to steal. It may be the same, as other pen names, but our experiences set us apart. I'd hold your hand, because you can, set ablaze my lonely heart. It's my duty, to share the beauty, and the darkness and pain as well. Through it all, we stumble and fall, locked tight in emotional cells. I love you more, as you walk out the door, never to come back you pretend. But I know well, that at the ring of a bell, your disappearence will come to an end. I wonder why, you sometimes cry, with your head on my arm. When it seems that I, could dry your eyes, and protect you from any harm. Somehow I know, that I can't go, anywhere without you. From the start, you pierced like a dart, so what am I to do? Cuddle up close, with a kiss on the nose, we'll make love for a time or two. Right to the end, we'll be best friends, and each other's spirits renew. |
