The water is deep and blue,
The sky is a lighter shade
Till the yellow sun is through,
And the dark of night is made.

Out of pines the moon rises
On the water it shimmers,
Then with sleepy surprise
Calm disrupted by swimmers.

With skin as white as the swan
They invaded my retreat
Without their feathers to don
The cool lake water they greet.

Only in youth are they bold,
Dip in mountain lakes so cold.

Gloom

Very pretty. I liked the scene this painted.

never knowing what you'll find
still I want you all the time
yeah I do

Thank you, skyshine,
Just a bit of imaginary vista,
from a place I was a while back,
It might have happened,
but didn’t.
Pleased you enjoyed.

Thank you. 1slick_lady,
Glad you liked

Vicarious for you?  Ok
Vicarious for us too.
But you did stir a chill memory . . . those high or northern lakes can be sooooo cold.
