somebody's dungeon

Last night at dusk
beauty caught my eye
above the lake
was a honey colored sky.

Shades of gold
like I'd never seen
the billowing clouds
were the color of cream.

A serenity sky
of soft amber hues
gone was any trace
of ordinary blue.

As I sat under the sky
a calm washed over me
where else in the world
would I ever want to be.

When here in this place
honey fills the sky
when here there is magic
right before my eyes.

WhiteRose - these are magical skies you write about. I see them also here and they are stunning in their colors...

This sky sounds just spectacular. I don't believe I've ever seen the sky look quite like you've so beautifully described. Sounds so romantic and magical.

Sounds beautiful

Isn't it awesome how alike may be sunsets, yet their beauty seems so new and individual each one we experience. Perhaps there are really no two alike, as if they are the fingerprints of the ever-reaching hand of God.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I know this feeling, although I tend to get it at sunrise on the beach.  It’s a peacefulness like no other, where you could be the only person in the world and you have no worries about anything.  Unfortunately for me, they never last long enough.  It sure is a magic moment and you really did it good in this poem.
