I hate making mistakes My guts knot all up My mind runs all over My spirit goes amuck I want to be perfect It is easier that way Never needing to say Sorry I did it that way Or said it like that Or said it at all Mistakes tear me apart Like a tornado inside Swirling my insides Bashing my pride I study and study I think and I think So why should mistakes happen I just think it stinks I know trying Or saying Risks mistakes will be made But my mind knows that Not my heart or my soul Redeeming is wonderful It reduces the pain But making mistakes Though part of the game Doesn’t suit me I want it understood Let me do it perfect Without any hitches That is my ideal No it is my need Though at it I have failed And that makes my soul bleed |

  (smiles) Oh Paul, we all do indeed make mistakes, for no one is perfect, but I know with a loving heart like yours you can be as close to perfect as you can get and I encourage you to always take risks as your heart continues to grow rich in love and you hold many more precious memories to your heart! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I have missed reading your wonderful words so much, you are a special friend to us all, we all love you so much! Mistakes are like wounds....wounds heal and become scars.....scars are a sign of healing....mistakes are a tool of learning.... I have always heard it said....that it is easier to ask forgiveness than to get permission.... The only mistakes that are bad are those that we continue to make even though we know better... Nice thought provoking write Paul.... |

Oh boy ... do I understand this one well Paul. You've captured a side of me that tears away at me piece by piece as well. Sometimes it's hard to understand the why's behind it ... only that we need to forgive ourselves once in a while when we make that inevitable "mistake". Paul I try so hard to not make mistakes that hurt others, that I usually end up making mistakes that hurt myself. But, I have learned more from those times. I enjoy your thoughtful poetry. |
