(A continuation of ‘We Need Space Away From Each Other”) So where does a beginning end And an end start How do you finish a poem? When life has so many twists and turns That individual’s takes in different directions Under the same circumstances Do you become pessimistic, realistic, or a dreamer So let’s continue an abrupt ending The door knocked loudly at a late hour The second half of a story just appeared on TV Leaving the solace of the room You look outside and see a loved stranger Who had drifted to find their own way Opening the door two set of eyes meet Needing each other and not willing to admit it They ask to come in The heart says yes the mind no Somehow the voice overrides it all says okay So two beings fueled by a love hate relationship Start to fall in love again on a new level of awareness In a road of independence They had found they needed each other But were afraid to admit it to the other Now the true commitment of time starts The slow process of renewal So at a lonely distance The negotiations begin Bringing two back together Until the warmth of each is again held close Making one depart and saying “You can sleep on the couch” Closing the door the heart jumps with joy But the mind wants to yell in disgust But is slowly being charmed back into reason So the bed of loneliness Starts to brings back the feelings For the fireplace of tomorrow Will heat things up even more D.Lester Young (08/05/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |

Well portrayed verse. The emotions are strong. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
