Landing on my feet,
As I hit the street, watching for the signs,
Speeding go the police
And no one seems to notice, no one seems to mind.
Flashing blue and red,
Rushes to the newly dead and the slowly dieing,
Sung in agony’s shrill scales,
With bleeding the skin pales, to the tune of crying.
The prostitutes and pushers
Don’t know the anger, or have purged it from their veins,
For neither seems to care
To battle from their despair, and so they just remain.
My feet took me away,
But still memories will stay, locked inside my mind.

Lady in white, you sent a lovely card and warm greetings, thank you for both.  Rex, I saw too much of the city, so I left it and will purge them with poetry, if I can. I hope that I don’t bore people with them.  Interloper, thanks for the welcome.  I’ll post a few more soon.

BRAVO!!! Oh my gosh, this is a powerfully intense debut, sweet friend, I love it, there is so much we can see and learn from on the street and while there will always be tears, there is always hope too! I LOVE IT!!! Welcome to Passions, sweet Blue Kitty, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your poetry, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Blue Kitty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alwyas shine upon you!

Hello Blue Kitty,

I can relate having been a city kid myself.
Give yourself time, you have the power to create your own reality. Keep writing and use your experiences of that heighten anxiety to embelish your work. Good going!
I look forward to more.

Excellent. I love the confidence of your voice and the way you tell a story.

We all view the street differently. Depends I suppose on whether or not we've become jaded and then numb to the horrors that others might run from. Great poem, and I really like the title.

There are a million messages,

you just have to know
which one to pull out of the ocean.
