here in the dim, gray light, waiting on my e-mail, when there’s clearly none in sight. Oh, ads come through, unsolicited, and mar the scene I see, not one bit tantalizing, only irritating me. The sky outside’s a-glimmer in wondrous, lovely hues; birds sing of the moisture of blade and petal dews. Sparkles from the fern fronds brighten up the day, why can’t I let it penetrate; why do I feel so gray? Shadows paint a symphony of melancholy flavor; the dimness seems to hang on me escaping thoughts to savor. I feel I’m in the shadows, of things blocking out the sun; no work of any consequence is needing to be done. It’s said that there’s a ministry for everyone on earth, sometimes I think mine’s writing for messages give birth. In me a flooding vigilance splays on to printed page. Could there be words of wisdom, as if spoken through a sage? It would be hard convincing me that what I’ve said’s profound, but touched by His blessing could touch the world around. So it would be wrong, of me, to toss all that’s left my hand, for by His power, His awesome love it could do something grand. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
