A Rainbows End

I walked along a sandy shore
Where waves implode upon its floor
Circled round my bare foot enter
Cooling sun the heats tormentor.

Schooled my mind to transient lie
And lifts me like a butterfly.
Upon the wayward sifting clouds
Those many-colored drifting shrouds

And there I search the mist of dream
The stitching of its very seem
The life and blood of my escape
Within its folds of velvet drape

An awe that stays behind a door
An awe that calls aloud for more
An awe that is the mental link
An awe that rules my very think

And I that struggle towards my soul
Have found in it a rainbows goal.

Ahhhh Stinkylove...what you do with a metaphor and imagery is just so poetically cool and impressive...the way you create these pictures and dreamscapes in our minds with a few mastertly chosen words...
always done with a tight, succinct word play and subtlety, yet the images are larger than life ...and always done with a metronome of meter that keeps perfect time.

and how cool is this line....

The stitching of its very seem

the word play on stitching/seam/seem is just what Im talking about.

The life and blood of my escape
Within its folds of velvet drape

how lovely is that!!!

Rainbows are ribbons
Of light fantastic
Tied to the rain
Before and after
Bows in the morning
Before
Bows in the evening
After

JM,
I forgot how early butterflies get up. I hope the flowers greet your day and offer nectar on the way. In other words I wish you well and would a visit for a spell. Randy wants to kiss you too. You know dragons, what can I do?

Sy...your writing is heavenly!
And very addictive!
Seems I can't get my day underway
until my morning read from you...
And this one is as charming as the rest..

Seymour - the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It's there, only if one would look for it. You have and have written about it well...

Enchantress,
It is my delight to delight you.

Bill,
Although we search for the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, it is always within us.
Thanks for the read.
