The blues is a restriction
a lock that's lacking keys
it's your passageway's constriction
though surrounded by a breeze

The blues has jurisdiction
it's painful law decrees
that a lifelong crucifiction
will stay bogged in legalese

The blues is a conviction
before you enter pleas
it's a bigot's prediliction
and no hope it guarantees

The blues is an affliction
your heart put in a freeze
by a reader who reads fiction
though you plead her from your knees

The blues likes taking lumber
and making it debris
yes the blues is any number
not divisible by we

Nicely done and nicely put. Your metaphors are very interesting...I liked this one.

never knowing what you'll find
still I want you all the time
yeah I do
'cause you get me

I don't know..I suppose I kinda like my Etta and my Otis..they make me humble..Your verse is blues rhyme divine..you look good in blue. Blue is water words leaking out and smearing history..

Sincerely,
Reg
