The Walnut Tree I sat in the dark underneath an old walnut tree The leaves rustled I held my breath confirming that was the only sound I wanted nothing, no human, no critter to encrough upon my space The air was heavy haunted by an expectation that even I could not bear I would not admit, wanting someone or something to reach out and take me to a place where my conscious mind would be at peace A time to inventory my restless spirit feed my courage and renew my thirst for tomorrows dreams Every sound in the night was magnified, my every uncertain thought accented by the moon Every star a goosebump, alone am I Alone we are Everywhere we have been Everywhere we go Everywhere we are Still we look for a place to be I have found the walnut tree c2002SimplyGold |

I like to lie down in a pine forrest and listen to the wind sigh in the needles above my head. paladin |
