The stream wanders around several bends In the valley between the mountain ranges In one bend called Harps Bend Pristine waters ripple over slippery rocks Creating hypnotic trances Where you lose your mind in contemplation In a walk of wildflowers the land opens up its beauty Here lie tree logs at intervals where butterflies dance In the color of your imagination blending in gentle harmony Humming birds dart around with their jet engines Drinking up natures sweet nectar Walking further you come on a narrowing Into a sheer cliff called Eagles Perch In a crag in the rocks above mating eagles Who have kept watch here undisturbed for eons In a cave a third of the way up Lies the view that dreams come from From this view the sun awakes in brilliance To set against the foliage of golden tones at night When the skies shimmer in billions of candle lights Blanketing the universe in a peaceful serene whisper Where the campfire can be heard crackling with the sparks of life Here my mind created fantasies that slew mad dragons Within paradises so vivid they were almost real In the morning ritual of climbing down Meeting another trail sloping with a steep incline Opening up a little later into a waterfall overhang In a lush garden where the spirit is undressed in such purity That rejuvenation is possible in exhilaration In such a great feeling that the heavens enter Your soul in your independence of thought This place is so perfect that every path leads to euphoria In the warmth of your creativity expanding beyond its limits Into the highest possible awareness of your inner being Coming to flower within your own possibilities As the Eagle spirit flies within your words of originality Let all writers add trails to this universe So they can escape the brutality of reality From time to time to recharge their spontaneity For the spirit in real life Must fly so unhindered If it must revive humanity Like in the bosom of a mother’s love For the baby in us must seek its tranquil destiny POEM: Napkin Writer – About those pieces of paper that poets use as love notes to thoughts. Just gorgeous, I wish I had a place like this to escape to every once in a while. Very descriptive and well done. ~sky You look inside my wild mind |

Lovely.I love nature so much. My favorite is the beach..the power of the ocean. But I also love all of nature, for as a child my friend and I ran free through the woods; we ran over and under barrebed wire, over the stream and were just totally into the woods. We pretended we were wild stalions running through life without a care. Loved your poem. Diane Coway I hope to read more of them. |
