Lyin' crouched down, in bush covered ground, I watch, without movement or sound; surveying all where I lay. Young gazelles near with no measure of fear, they run, jump jump run 'round in play Lie in the winds masks scent held within, I stalk, tensed - primed to begin classic Darwinian strife. One gazelle's fate seals as he breaks too late, then runs, jump jump runs for his life Lion's teeth gnash, claws extend, grip the grass; I strike, my intent to end fast the kill with a victory roar Trapped gazelle's flight yields a one-sided fight. Now he runs, jump jump runs nevermore |
