Grandson Mine Oh my heart is on my sleeve, Grandson mine. And I hate to see you leave, Grandson mine. If you could search the whole world o'er You'd find no one to love you more Than the grandma who adores you Grandson mine. I have known two more like you, with your name. Your grandpa and your daddy, much the same. They were so very much like you. The first one was but twenty-two When we wed and I took his beloved name. The second was our treasure, his and mine. We loved him beyond measure, baby fine. And now that you are twenty-two, The only one I have is you. It's no wonder that I love you, Grandson mine. Joyce 4/13/02 |
