in the shadows of your mind
in the darkness found therein
lurks a creature of the night
where it feeds upon your sins

your doubts are it's favourite drink
and upon your fear it sups
the banquet's fare which gives it strength
is a feast upon the corrupt

whether kept meek or be made hale
upon you this will all depend
as it waits for the day you fail
it feeds upon your sins

there's more than just your life at stake
through all of life's many tests
so take care with decisions you make
to find your soul's eternal rest

for in the shadows of your mind
in the darkness found therein
lurks the creature of the night
feeding upon your sins.

An eternal lesson...
one that should be taught
and re-taught...
