woven by a poet's loom

returning howls
from a pack of many
one ponders ways
to distinguish any

be you she-wolf
answering now
across such miles
I’d wonder how

but now and then
clear calls are heard
as if here carried
by brother bird

I’ll listen keen
through forest’s trees
it may be you
