In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-07-31 12:03 PM

{Excerpts from the notebook, a journal I have been working on for twelve years
since your passing
}

I should not have to
remind you      time is little given

The bending of wild flowers
can not be stopped

Of all our years together
the wind     endless --
dragon flies   drifting
past,   the earths seasons
cold, pale gold,    crumbled
dirt           thirsty    alive

I know so  little --

You,     whom I have watched  breathe
at nights    through  water of   sleep
             in a    blue city
where shadows   fall into history

Slipping in silence

Candles at both ends;
when set  side by  side
from       fading oceans
of yesterdays rain
--
Rose petals,  sorbet     colors
untouched  --  the softest of soft
showering the mountain,   -- I remember
saying that aloud in a dream

A coat of many colors,
I was reminded    of wearing
when the story   began :
but I found   dust beneath my feet
broken      lines    scattered     tilting--
in all    directions               -- I remember
reading that in a dream,  from  a book
with your scripture   one you sent many years
before:  darkness set in

--

You spoke   of beauty --
journeys    of rain, storms  & light  pure
in their falling    among   my
strength of all roots
never going any where

This winter will find me watching
from fields   of   forgotten   daffodils --
memories  I surrender too,
horizons with no end,
time between river and sea

meeting the bend   of color

I know so little

The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind pretend I am weightless and in this moment I am happy

(big hugggssssss) Oh Lauren, this is sooooo beautifully touching, sweet friend, my heart goes out to your loss of before but I know deep down this special person you are speaking of thinks of you everyday and is why the seasons whisper and the rosepetals have those colors and the sun shines with loving grace to you! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

You know far more than you realize...
your depth of vision in this striking piece serves proof.
The imagery in this is as impressive as the expression.

Lauren, as always, you write amazingly... Loved these lines:

"A coat of many colors,
I was reminded    of wearing
when the story   began :
but I found   dust beneath my feet
broken      lines    scattered     tilting--
in all    directions"

very beautiful...

descriptive, imagery, weather, season, passing of time, solace, wonder,...

these are some of the words that came to my mind while reading your work of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

and yet, you know so much and you say it so beautifully, Lauren.
This poem had a sadness that reached deep inside of me, and I cannot seem to find the exact place where it touched me because it has spread all over me like a feeling of warmth.

I know so little. . .

and yet, you know. . .

there are words. . . but, I'm thinking that I really don't need to tell you what they are. . .
