Watch the ships sail away on waning tide,
Tacking cross the harbor mouth’s frothy waves,
Slipping into the Chesapeake Bay so wide
To the Atlantic Ocean where fish plays,
Wishing to be on that deck for the ride,
To sail the blue waters for many days.

Watch the plane fly away on evening breeze,
Gone to their exotic destinations,
Gliding over mountains rivers and seas,
To be going without trepidation
To any paradise anywhere you please
To be guided by imagination.

Don’t look to me,
I wont be going off to sea,
My life is bland
I wont see another land,
I just sit here
Simmering in my nowhere.

Gloom

This is wonderful Gloom...
full of fantastic imagery.
Enjoyed despite the sad ending.

I like this Professor... the flights of imagination make a great contrast to the ending. *S*
