(Lyra, I just wanted to let you know that your poem "Granddaughters" touched my heart so much and made me cry because it's so beautiful. This is a special poem I wrote last year dedicated to you and other wonderful friends here who have daughters or grand-daughters also! God Bless You! ) Why God Made Little Girls By: Noah Eaton 10/9/01 And so He said, “Let there be smiles and laughs and cheer “Let sugar fill the heart of the spirit of youth!” So God made little girls to spread scintillating cheer and delight Singing songs and prancing about to touch me and you Barbies and Barney and Lite-Brite sets Coloring books and costume parties galore! Sugar and spice and everything nice The laughter these angels make is one I can never ignore They cuddle up in your lap when you feel exhausted They love to play with their cute dolls and stuffed animals When you watch them dance and bow before your eyes They make you smile and forget of all your woes They love to shower their moms with flowers for no reason at all They love to share what they learned to their dear dads My oh my, how their manners do shine when they love to help And still have time to crawl and play with their trinkets and knick-knacks Girls should always feel so truly special They make us feel quite special all the time They light your heart when you feel glum too Like when Heidi said, “When you look at me that way, it makes me want to cry!” Even when girls grow up and become dear women The sweet spirit of the child giggles deep in their wombs A little girl’s essence is the affection she shares To whom sweet endearment and sororal love blooms God made sweet little girls to light our hearts Where in their eyes beauty bestows Share a smile with every little girl you meet You know at first glance you'll have a smile lull! "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." Shakira [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (07-29-2002 12:03 AM).] |

Dearest Noah...thank you so much for that lovely poem. I think you will be the world's best daddy when the time comes... and I hope you have at least one little girl, because they are special and they deserve sensitive men like yourself for daddies. ~ hugs from a former little girl who is now a grandma Lyra |

You have such a caring and wonderful soft spot in your heart. I printed this out to hang on my refrig. The honor spot in our house. I also forwarded it to my precious daughter, Beth.
