Other Lives There are long ago, distant, past times in me in heaven’s truth there is more than one of places lived, loves from distance gone, of feelings left unsaid, deeds left undone. When in a life's span oceans' waves call, walking in moccasins of cured deer skin, standing alone in ancient medieval hall, of times my body was darker than it’s currently in. Memories flood deep through my resting soul or perhaps, could these dreams be but deja vu?, far back in time do deep memories roam shadowy spaces, faces, giving out small clues. Aboard a vessel roaming from shore to shore, as ship’s sails and soaring breeze curries the knowing heart of a pirate’s deep core memories less vague, nor are they blurry. To listen once more, a balladeer’s song, when hooty owls caused one’s blood to stir when Greensleeves was first sung aloud, memories warm like a mulled liqueur. Those times of roaming flatland grasses being one with the spirits, wolf, and deer, retelling stories of ancestors passing caring for the Great Spirit’s land while here. The sorrowful times of being owned whole, when spirituals were forced from my heart of carrying chains and scars 'round body and soul just know of history, I have been that part. Listening to heartstrings, memories smooth, of long ago lives from now far removed ~ not to listen to them, to be left unsoothed for these, my lives, were from what memories grew In each of these long ago, faraway times, as my soul is warmed from rich mulled wine I am entranced by the medley of my other minds, and my soul rejoices, as memories bind. ~*~ ©KRJ 5 September, 1999 Revised 28 July 2002 |

I think you have put your finger on it.....yes......the "memories" aren't always pleasant.....but nag at us anyway. Yours in peace, |

Karilea To feel all the pieces, or just a few, of you...is a wondrous view. |

(smiles) Oh Karilea, this is wonderful, I'm so happy you re-posted this because I love all the wonderful poems you post because they speak on so many levels. It is astonishing indeed how we seem to watch ourselves skip generations yet we seem to share a same relation with all of our ancestors and their families before! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I just know R. Dean loves this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Thanks so much for re-posting this one, Karilea... I don't remember seeing it the first time around and it is totally beautiful. ~ hugs and memories Lyra |
