Everafter Extinct

Rapunzel me in daydream pose
for a shining armoured knight, stallion galloped,
with strong hands to climb hair sky walls
and sir Lancelot lips to lick my wounds.

So why did I get my hair cut yesterday?

"Off in the sunset" is overrated
in tomorrow's taunt without remorse
like a white horse bucking the prince
to hang my head tiara bear of diamonds
in apple bitter without the taste of sweet.

Poor, little pathetic me
I'm the pity princess again,
so perhaps I should join in the laughter?
Who needs happily ever after anyway?
I'm no fool, I'm just well-read
in need of a harlequin fairytale, Danielle Steele style
(definately sans the Fabio!)

Deja vu, I'm the butt of Cupid's joke
of Murphy's law in full force
and good ole fate just loves to grin
for, in the end I always get
the riderless white horse.

(big huggssssssss) Oh Melissa, I understand how you feel and I know it can be so hard but truly you are a princess and with a golden heart like yours your King Arthur is bound to find you and will not only sweep you off your feet on that white horse but show you a life of chivalrous romance that defies all those laws! (sigh) My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, I wish the best for you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Melissa, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Melissa,
A horse, is a horse, is a horse. Mount up and take a ride. Enjoyed

Coolies, I have my new username Finally!     Thanks Ron!

Noah, Moon Dust, Deca and Sy ~ Thanks for reading this wacky melancholy piece.  I'm still a hopeless romantic and of course that little hidden part of me still believes in fairytales...but, I seem to get the short end of the stick nowadays and *sighs* hence the reason why I write these poems...funny thing is, I actually feel much better when I write these.

Oh, and down with Fabio!  Yuck!

I love the way you handled these metaphors, Melissa...
I am now visualizing Rapunzel with a haircut LOL.

I've noticed that people who are the most romantic are also the ones who know the other side of the coin all too well. . .

love the new name. . .and the poem is excellent my friend. . .

A cool piece missy,
I really like the
'riderless white horse' image,
you've given a topic considered cliche
some fresh oomph with that typical
sarscasm that I love about ya.
And Fabio - ewwwwww indeed!
Sorry that I don't read or reply to
your poems as much anymore, but, this
one was well worth the read.

Melissa,

I feel that this just writes for me right now too. We live too close together it must be the Toronto smog affecting us...lol.
