Childhood

childhood
is fleeting
barely coming
into focus
before it ends

attempts to grasp it,
to hold its moments,
its flashing images
in our minds
in our hearts
are futile

it is that
which Polaroids
cannot begin
to comprehend

Much truth here Virginia...

I have often wondered what goes through
a newborn baby's mind when first born and
the fear of waking from the sleep prior to
birth into a stark world of humanity....

Imagine the fear....not even knowing a single
word to express...

Well expressed, Virginia, this is your finest, I really enjoy this side of your writing~

Take care,

this is clearly stated, and reads just so powerful, especially your last lines~ final stanza tied this up beautifully to leave an echo on your words

i think this is awesome!
