Team Work (For my son and daughter)
By Larry Chadwick
Not that they take after their father!

My children were a pair,
They made such a good team.
Always full of mischief,
Not intending to be mean.

They came to pay a visit,
And planned it oh so well.
Each planned a prank,
But neither was to tell.

Larry Jr. lead the way,
With a tattoo on his arm.
Ginger followed close behind,
With a nose ring as a charm.

Their father he went silent,
Sullen, not knowing what to say.
They seemed so very real,
He hoped that it was play.

Finally Grandpa came on by,
Had to sit for just a spell.
He didn’t take it very good,
And it was easy for us to tell.

The kids they greeted Grandpa at the door,
He couldn’t hide his feelings and he didn’t even try.
The tattoo was a shock to him,
But the nose ring made him cry.

So they did what they wouldn’t do for dad,
They confessed the truth right away.
Grandpa learned the he’d been had,
They had done it all just for play.

When Grandpa headed off to home,
They studied what it was they’d tried.
Larry Jr. thought his tattoo did good,
But Ginger won, “For me,” she said, “he cried.”

A cute prank they played on old Dad. But I’m glad they ‘fessed up to Grandpa. Hope he found it funny after he got over the shock.

(giggles in delight) Awwwwwww, those silly rascals! LOL! Yep, Ginger sure did win that war, hehehe! Suprisingly as a boy while I was mischievious quite a lot I never was a big fan of pranks, I just said silly things that sometimes got me in trouble! (smiles) This is delightful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

So much warmth in this poem, Larry...
You just have to forgive the mischief...
especially now.

Nan,
It was borderline. But we have reminisced about this one many times, at Grandpa's expense.

Mark,
No. I would never say I never. And it was reality alright. Stressful, reality.

Tracey,
Yup he has a good sense of humor and a really tender heart. Spunky kids though! Thanks.

Noah,
We were on the edge often in our house. Thanks.

Paul,
Thanks for sharing in my memories!

Your great poem reminds me of that old saying "insanity is heriditary - I got it from my kids!" LOL I love your sense of humor... and it's obviously shared... This is a "gotcha" worthy of your PIP scalawag cohorts! LOL

suthern,
Isn't nice to keep things going from generation to generation. Thank you for such kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed this too.
