I liked the way it looked on me.
I liked the way it felt.
I loved the sparkle, over head.
I loved the way my sweet knave knelt.

I enjoyed, the carpet--red--
before me was a path of ease.
I adored the praises said--
I ignored the serf in bleed.

My carriage, led by finest team--
horses of great pedigree.
All of world in bow to me
in awe of all my finery.

I had oils in annoint--
ladies stitched my petit point
pillows sewn to rest my head--
I might just as well be dead.

A ring of gold, is heavy, weighed,
compared to freedom's flying hair,
riding bareback in the wind
jumping hedge as if a dare.

There is nothing to compare--
to taking jump, to find ground there...

May the wind rip gold to shreds--
tell them that I rose from dead.

Don't know why but I envision thoughts that keep bringing me back to Julia Roberts and "Runaway Bride".  No laughing.......you could be her for all I know.......or her ... you.  Or it could just be that I ate something that wasn't on the menu tonight so for thought of after dinner mints......I shall ponder before return.

I've never had the tiara, but I'd take the freedom over it any day.

... wha? Bu... bu... the tiara looked so nice with the gold macabre!

have you notice that many of your poems lately speak of fighting through something? hmmm... there's a morale in there somewhere. *winkies*

It's tough, but not undoable...

you are a FORCE, lady...
keep 'em coming...

If I look confused it's because I'm thinking.

Yes, I’ve noticed a few cold feet themes in your poems lately. Sometimes the tiara can be heavy to wear, sometimes it’s as light as air. All depends on the giver and the givee.

A ring of gold, is heavy, weighed,
compared to freedom's flying hair,
riding bareback in the wind
jumping hedge as if a dare.

Personally, I prefer the winds of freedom…having done the band of gold and findng it very tight round my finger…but that’s just me.

I'm behind you all the way!

Well you know what I mean......support!
Perhaps I shall catch something for a keepsake.....But heck I'd still be wishin you were in it........just me back here!

Like Johnathan Edwards sang in Carolina.....
"This old wagon ain't no carriage
with her six golden horses in hand,
but we can listen....oh we can listen....
to Carolina in the sand..."

Jan? I'm sitting here and looking at my feet--and it just occurred to me that I put a lot of money and effort into my feet--just looking down? I count NINE accessories. (not to mention the loveliest shade of rose polish on the nails...)

anyhow? Let's count 'em:

1. (1) left barefoot sandal (shoes without soles.. )

2. (1) right barefoot sandal (shoes without soles.. OH. Those are prolly inter-changeable. heh. heh?

3. (1) sterling moons and stars anklet on the left leg.

4. (1) gold chained anklet with amethysts--right ankle.

5. (1) enamel inlay anklet, all caught in up in #4,,,(I'm gonna need help with that one)

6. (1)Sterling toe ring, in shape of cobra.

7. (1) baby ring, a multi-gold rose, on my second to baby toe on the right foot

8. (1) pentacle on my left big toe, with connecting "slave chain" to smaller toe ring

9. tattoo.
