She casually walked up to me in a familiar place, Lovely in movement and with a smile on her face, Dressed in shades of red and dark flowing hair, I wasn’t the only one that could do nothing but stare. I slowly rose to greet her with the aid of my cane, My heart beat faster to just see her once again, As beautiful as always she paused before me, Telling in musical voice that I was good to see, We sat and chatted over drinks for more than an hour Enthralled by her charm I fell under her power, I agreed to terms that weren’t in my best interest, She hadn’t begged debated or even had to insist, Every time I saw her was the same situation, Emotions are always beyond explanation. As casually as she came she was gone once more, Every eye in the place had followed her to the door, With time her spell came softly unwrapped For the waitress I gave the table a soft tap, And contemplated exactly what I had done As I slowly sipped on my fresh double bourbon. Gloom Just a fantasy induced by late night reading |
