(big hugggsssssss) Oh Lyra, this is sooooooo sensitive and beautiful, sweet friend, my heart goes out to your loss but yet I am also happy you see him as this graceful butterfly who now will only flitter for freedom and will always guide you with true love and comfort forever! (sigh) My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! You are indeed a very kind and wonderful lady, dear Lyra... Monty was no doubt just as special, and is smiling upon you as you remember him so lovingly... |

though you are apart from us you will always be part of us ============================= those words sum up so beautifully the lingering touch of the traces left behind. The butterfly has become a poetic symbol of a loved one for so many of us...few things on this earth represent the fragile beauty that the winged wonders can. A tender tribute Lyra...very lovely take care poetess, jm |

One of the nicest thoughts I know I've been blessed with is the fact that perhaps there are ways we can come back to light on someone with a small touch...the fact that you have picked the auspices of a butterfly just goes to prove I am not alone in my thinking.... |

Noah...thanks so much for your very sweet reply Marie...thank you and I hope that you are right James...I hope so too, and thanks for your nice reply Lauren...thanks so much for your reply and I'm glad that it touched you White Rose...thank you so much and I'm glad that you enjoyed Nan...Thanks so much for that very special reply. You are right about Monty, he is/was a very special person and I feel his presence and his guidance all of the time. Janet Marie...the butterfly also represents the transition from this life to the next... Thanks so much for your reply and please see the bottom of this because I will explain exactly why I wrote this poem Vandana...thank you for enjoying my poem Marti...thanks so much for your reply and for your sincere heart hugs Nancy...thanks for the pretty butterfly Karilea..yes this is a very comforting thought, and I believe that its more than just a thought....thanks so much for your reply and please see my explanation at the bottom of my reply to the replies Juanita...thanks so much for your reply and for the pretty purple butterfly...and I am so glad that you are back here again. Sandra...thanks so much for reading my poem and for your very thoughtful reply Stevie...Its so nice to see you back here again and thanks so much for replying to my poem Mr.Squirrel...thanks so much for the reply and the blessing. I'm glad you approve of the new pic. I would like to tell all of you the story behind this poem.... While I was holding Monty's hand as he was dying, I asked him to send me a sign that he was okay...he said that he would. During his burial, a beautiful Tiger Swallowtail butterfly which looked exactly like the one in the picture, flew up from out of his grave just as his casket was being lowered into it. Butterflies usually do not go underground, so this was highly unusual. It was also unusual because they were spraying for Gypsy Moths that year and we hadn't seen any butterflies at all...and in fact, saw none through that whole summer...except for this one. The butterfly flew between his sister and me, and it brushed my cheek as it flew by... There almost seemed to be a purpose to it's path...and everyone just watched in amazement as this happened. Afterward, the Rabbi said that he had never seen anything like this before and that he thought it was surely a sign from Monty...although I had never told him that I had asked Monty to send me one. Since then, I have had other signs from him, and I still feel his presence in my life, as a protector.
