Appraised

he scraped
my pearls
across his teeth
and wondered
if I was real
as if the gliding
of their perfection
was the only thing
he could feel
the truest value
of a heart
appraisal of it
would be in vain
a heart broken
and healed again
produces pleasure
over pain

slick - you write some of the greatest lines such as:

a heart broken
and healed again
produces pleasure
over pain

Yes, it has to be broken first, only then will it produce the greatest pleasure....
