Did I?

Did I see you there?
A mirage of mirrored sheen
Black tar shimmering

~*~

Cactus pricklin’ thoughts
Sand traps all my memories
Nothing thirsts like this

~*~

Where’s the oasis?
Palm trees, palmetto wide leaves
Fanning one’s desire

~*~

Saguaro waters
Will flood those dry memories,
Fruit to feed the soul

~*~

Did I?  See you there?
In Saguaro’s oasis,
Tall in setting sun

~*~

(smiles) Oh Karilea, this is sownderful, sweet friend, I love it, I know these feelings of seeing mirages too and trying to distinguish them before reality! (sigh) This is well-said, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Lovely imagery. I lived out in AZ for 10 years. Thank you for the picture of what used to be home.

Great imagery woven in this one! Don't know much about cactus, but I think you'll find your oasis under a palm.

You know, this was one of those poems that just "happened" and I was frustrated and wanted to write "something", this fell out, and I thought, "Oh great...a big zero."  LOL...then first

Noah replied, and I thought "he is so good to me, always picking me up no matter what I write...such a good young man...", then,

the_loner replied, and I thought, "she is always there with her poetry, and has such a good heart...", then,

Gentle Spirits calmly lifted me up, as if she held out her hands, a little two word response as refreshing as the oasis itself...

Dark Stranger came along, denying it was him there on the horizon, and since I couldn't see so well looking against the sun, I'll just have to take his word for it, and grab the bandana....then...

Enchantress shows when she is speechless, and doesn't say a whole lot...when she's enthusiastic, she really comes forth, but when she's speechless, it's just so, so nice to see that, too...

Martie then shows up, amazing friend she is...always personalizing a poem with the thought that her eyes have seen this as well, or her hands have been pricked by the cactus and the stranger on the horizon just felt her kiss...Martie is always there...

Mycafe is a new friend to me, someone who lights gently in soft colors upon a poem here and there, and I am just beginning to know her ways...

faterider always likes to pick out some words that spoke in a loud whisper, just to say, "I heard this," and faterider, I hear you, too...then...

Marge pounces and her soft mocassins feel so well on my feet when she knows I need a laugh and a giggle, and she leaves little splintering comments that keep me giggling for days...and then...

the cowboy denies he was in the picture as well...which is okay, because I know there's a pretty gal on HIS horizon, and I would just as soon have his horse...LOL...then...

Paul is also a new friend, Goodknight that he is...and I have found myself appreciating his poetry just as much as he says he appreciates mine...it takes a good guy to admit that, y'know?...and then,

sodpossom, who is not around nearly enough, stopped by to leave his card, just to say howdy, and give a boost...how kind...then...

WhiteRose left a small note saying, "I know this place, this was my home," and in that little comment, told me SO much about herself...and that is what Passions is about...sharing ourselves...then...

donna came by...and where have you been, our girl...you are not here often enough, and I thank you for the boost, sweet friend...then...

and yes, Deb, you came to see the desert and found me talking of oasis...where palms grow...but...an oasis can be found in the middle of a saguaro's belly...it holds liquids to sooth the dry...and feeds one from its pulp...so we are both right....then...

our Madame Chipmunk scampers in, tasting here and there all of the treasures of the last few days, and always chooses me as one of her nuts to enjoy...

thank you all so much for enjoying what I thought was going to be a goose-egg....

and Magnus comes in when I am not looking, encouraging as always, a silent Knight that we hold close to us...

hugs, K
