Years ago, in the flat next door Lived a man named McKirrtlebom. I never learned his first name, But his wife would call him Tom. She also called him Harry And sometimes Dick and one night Joe. I never heard him answer her. He kept his voice too low. His habits were unusual. He'd sneak out of his own flat In the cleverest disguises, Looking thin sometimes, sometimes fat. Once he passed me on the stairs And when he got to the lowest flight, He turned and said, "Hey kid You didn't see me here tonight." McKirrtlebom went the way All mortal creatures go. At least that was the story. I don't believe it though. I'm sure he worked in espionage. He was devious to the core. My proof is that in his coffin Lay a man I'd never seen before. |

Dom, Fun poem! You should be posting more often! Someone might mistake you for a newcomer. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. [This message has been edited by Larry C (07-23-2002 12:22 PM).] |

Dom! Small chuckles emitting from within...you were very clever with this story, one that is a long time old, but freshly revised beneath your pen... good job! |
