Midnight Quest

Nature called to me from my hearts perception of it
So, I went on a mission to find both you and I
I curtsied the evening for all I found
When my midnight quest found me on a late night drive...

Windows rolled down to absorb the wind loud in my ears
And, with a little summer blowing through my hair
I valued the sky as it seemed to get closer
And, around me laid serene everywhere...

I needed to disappear in all this before me
As the owls were in jubilee to sundown
And, on my journey I found you in this display
And, you rode shot gun through this small town...

Evergreens surrounded the road to no where I was going
The seasons breeze just noisily blowing
And, with the clouds in the shape of lightening from the hills to sky
I just relished in the presence of you on this ride...

I played not a sound to take in natures song
And, just to the evenings tune I sang along
And, just when I had to brake for lost dreams
It was then I could hear August scream...

For, the silence in the halt to make my way home
Made this heart feel every bit for once at home
My midnight quest to finding us both
Left a sense of awe as I rode...

I embraced the moment for soon would be gone
And, August would lead way to Septembers song
I can find you where peace roams these hills
Never doubt that I have, I can, and I will...

hey that was good, it reminded me of "Devine secrets of the ya ya sisterhood" that's movie/book if ya didn't know. it's not all in the same structure though which in some ways i like but in some ways just anoys me but like i said it's not the question of 'does the world like saunni's poetry?' it's more 'does saunni like saunni's poetry?' and if that's the case go with it and write more!

life may just take a while but i guess heaven's worth the wait

The last line was my favorite--

"Never doubt that I have, I can, and I will..."

This speaks volumes and could lead to a million new poems...

Keep writing!

shadowchild, no I have never seen such a movie, I watch very few movies at that. Yes, you are right, it's not about if the world likes my poetry, it's a matter of if I do. That's why in my constructive critiques box I suggested I didn't want it and that I enjoy my own work and if somebody gets something from it, that's great, too. Word for word.
