Cure Wanted

I'm not quite sure just when or how
or why I'm made to suffer.
You'd think that I have had enough
and should be slightly tougher.
With an itch itch here
and an itch itch there
I'm creamed and powder dusted.
I wonder if I need repent
or just am maladjusted.

I have this lovely garden
though the weeds this year are much.
I think I pulled those three leaf ones
when those I should not touch.
So now I cannot where a shoe,
on one foot I am nude,
blister covered, oozing out.
I hate to be so crude...

Does any poet know a cure
a tip or two, solution?
It's getting on my nerves so bad
this poison's distribution.
I've tried it all, Aveeno baths,
the hottest water ever,
Gold Bond powder, clorox bleach,
a Calamine endeavour.
Still it clings to top of foot
and multiplies wherever.
I guess I  must go bathe again,
this itch to lose... whenever.

This is a delightful way to put discomfort into words. I hope you find the cure you are in need of to rid yourself of this annoyance. I hate those three-leafed demons.
I wish I could help, but the only thing I could recommend is keeping it REALLY dry.

thanks..*s  I have looked up every solution on the net..and am working my way down the list...the itch can be stopped with the hottest water bath you can stand...it feels so good when doing it..almost an itch that is beyond pain.. about this shy of pleasure ( read that it makes the histamines escape) and then I have about 3 hrs relief...but I just want it to  be done with already. I have had it  over a week...

*s

If you have the rag, I have the foot.

you are making me think of weird sayings like...have foot will rag
and I have no idea what it is supposed to mean

Thanks..I have tried all those creams..and clear lotions...guess it has to run its course

nothing like an itch that you can't get rid of. However I can't offer anything but tea and sympathy. Have you tried vinegar? that takes the itch out of sunburn.

I have tried alcohol and that doesn't even help...my friends  who have stopped by say they haven't seen such a bad case in ages..at least the huge blistering is done..they all connected into a  large blister...I guess because it was right where the tongue of my shoe is, it rubbed before I knew it was poison ivy...
I just tried the vinegar. I smell pickled now

Native Americans have used the crushed leaves and stem juice of JEWELWEED to relieve the effects of poison ivy since .... well since they found it I guess.   It also will help with insect bites and eczema.  Try it on a little spot first to make sure you are not allergic and if it helps....then relief is on it's way.  Very common and easy to find.  Good Luck
