The Return of Joseph

From the bowels of the snake I have risen
I have examined blood splatters long dried
With the wolf and coyote I’ve counseled
Over the bones of my brothers I’ve cried

The spirits are pleased by my ramblings
Justice, it does ride in my sling
Father moon hides his face from my vengeance
Over the bodies of my enemies will I sing

The war cries will shake many mountains
Great rocks will tumble and fall
Wind will arise with the thunder
The eagle will sound it’s great call

At victory war drums will fall silent
On a buffalo hide will I sleep
The great chiefs will stand round in a circle
Joyous tears from their eyes will they weep

This land will once more be free land
All colors will be brothers in peace
The rainbow will stay without leaving
All hatred between man will then cease

Excellent Dillard.  Thank you for posting,
very much enjoyed and now to tuck this into the library of goodies...

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Wonderful poem to see come this way and about a subject that I am somewhat passionate about. Will save to library to indulge in later.

Very much enjoyed ..... the topic as well as the rhyme and flow.

Hello Dillard. I enjoyed your 'ramblings' too. Very poetic. *s
